Helmet Ready is designed to be used without creating an account or signing in.

Information we collect

You don’t need to provide your name, email address, or other account information to use Helmet Ready.

When planning a ride, we process the locations, destinations, and route preferences you provide to generate routes and weather information.

To see how many people use Helmet Ready, we count visits with our own visit statistics, described below.

We also keep aggregate server logs of page and plan requests — counts of visits and ride plans, not a record of you. These logs do not retain your IP address, set no identifiers, and are automatically discarded after about a week.

If you contact us directly, we’ll receive the information you choose to include in your message.

Visit statistics

We count visits with Umami, an analytics tool we run on our own server. It is cookieless: it sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.

For each visit it records the page you viewed, the site that sent you, your browser, device type, screen size, language, and a rough location (country, region, and city).

To tell different visitors apart, it makes an anonymous visitor ID: a one-way hash of your IP address and browser. The ID changes every month, so we can’t follow you over time. Your IP address is used only to make the ID and find the rough location; it is not stored. We can’t use this data to find out who you are.

Visit statistics stay on our own server and are deleted after 12 months.

We count visits under our legitimate interest, as allowed by the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173): to understand our audience and to show sponsors honest numbers that keep Helmet Ready free. We collect only what we need for that.

If you’d rather not be counted, you can block scripts in your browser or use a content blocker. Helmet Ready works the same either way.

How we use your information

We use this information to provide Helmet Ready’s features, improve the product, troubleshoot problems, and understand how the service is being used.

We may share visit totals — such as visitor counts, top pages, and countries — with sponsors and advertisers. These are totals only, never a record of any one visitor.

We do not sell your personal information.

Third-party services

Helmet Ready uses third-party services for routing, weather data, and hosting. These services may process limited information needed to provide their functionality and are subject to their own privacy policies. We use no third-party analytics service — our visit statistics and server logs, described above, run on our own server.

Cookies

Helmet Ready sets no analytics cookies. Our visit statistics are cookieless and store nothing on your device. If we ever add cookies for genuine preferences, we’ll describe them here.

Your privacy

We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by Helmet Ready and retain information only as long as reasonably necessary.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights regarding your personal information, including access, correction, or deletion. Because we keep no name, email, or IP address with our visit statistics, we usually can’t match them to you — but contact us and we’ll help where we can.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Helmet Ready evolves. Changes will be posted here with an updated revision date.
